Being Brave

On January 23, 2014, my 34th birthday, I made a resolution to be brave.

Brave is a funny word and can mean different things to different people.

For some, brave means this:

motorcycle stunt

For others, brave means this:

And while I agree that both these actions are very brave, that is not what I mean when I resolve to be brave.

What I mean is more like this:

making friends

I have a lot of fears and anxieties.  There are many reasons why, and I’m sure in the course of my blog I will speak to some of the reasons.  But really, what I want is to overcome these fears and anxieties that are keeping me from living the life I want.

I want to be brave and go to social engagements.

I want to be brave and say hello and converse with people I meet in social situations.

I want to be brave and reach out to people who are already my friends.

I want to be brave and speak my mind when I disagree with something and not just go along with the flow.

I want to be brave and not judge myself and criticize myself whenever I do anything.

I want to be brave and not accept myself for who I am.

I want to be brave and truly be me.

I feel like were the same person! I made this my goal in 2013 and it’s such a life changer! Not to mention the great feeling you get when you start leaving that shell you’re in. Good luck!
